CASH BASED PRIMARY CARE - FAQ

Q: Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance but we do provide super bill which patients can submit to their insurance company for reimbursement.

 

Q. How do I pay for my visit?

We accept cash, check, and credit card payments.

Q: Are there any additional fees?

A: Additional fees may apply for certain procedures, such as lab tests and x-rays. These fees will be discussed with you prior to the procedure.

Q: What is cash-based primary care?

A: Cash-based primary care is a direct pay model where patients pay for services directly, rather than through insurance. This allows for more personalized, individualized care, as well as more flexible scheduling and shorter wait times.

Q: Why would I choose a cash based service over an insurance-based service?

A: Some patients choose cash based services because they have high deductibles or out-of-network coverage through their insurance. Others prefer the flexibility and control that comes with paying for their own care.

Q: Is cash-based primary care only for patients without insurance?

A: No, patients with insurance can also choose to use cash-based primary care. They can use a "superbill" which is a statement of services provided, to submit to their insurance for reimbursement.

 

Q. What is a superbill?

A superbill is a document that lists all the services and charges for a medical appointment or procedure. It is typically used in cash-based practices and allows patients to submit the bill to their insurance company for reimbursement.

 

Q. How do I use a superbill? T

o use a superbill, you will need to submit it to your insurance company along with any supporting documentation, such as lab results or x-rays. The insurance company will then process the claim and determine the amount of reimbursement you are eligible for.

 

Q. Will my insurance cover the cost of services listed on the superbill?

That will depend on your insurance plan and the specific services listed on the superbill. It's best to check with your insurance company to see what services are covered and at what percentage.

Q. Can I still see my regular doctor if I choose to use a superbill?

Yes, you can still see your regular doctor even if you choose to use a superbill. The superbill simply provides an additional option for patients to pay for their medical care.

Q: What are the prices for primary care services at your clinic?

We offer two different types of primary care visits, level 1 and level 2. A level 1 visit is a 20-minute appointment and costs $140. A level 2 visit is a 40-minute appointment and costs $240.

Q: What is included in a level 1 visit?

A level 1 visit is typically used for minor illnesses and injuries, such as colds and flu, minor cuts and burns, and routine check-ups. It includes a consultation with one of our providers, a physical examination, and a treatment plan.

Q: What is included in a level 2 visit?

A level 2 visit is typically used for more complex issues, such as chronic conditions and follow-up visits. It includes a consultation with one of our providers, a physical examination, a treatment plan and follow-up as needed

Q: Are the prices for cash-based primary care services higher than those for insurance-based services?

A: Not necessarily. In many cases, the prices for cash-based primary care services are lower than those for insurance-based services, as there is less administrative burden and overhead.

Q: How can I pay for cash based services?

A: We accept major credit cards, checks, and cash. Some may also offer financing options.

Q: Are cash-based primary care services still considered "out of network"?

A: Yes, cash-based primary care services are considered "out of network" for insurance purposes, but patients can still submit superbills to their insurance for reimbursement.

Q: Will I still receive a receipt for my visit?

A: Yes, you will receive a detailed receipt for your visit, including any tests or procedures that were performed. This can be used for reimbursement from your insurance, if applicable.

Q: Can I still see a specialist if I use cash-based primary care?

A: Yes, you can still see a specialist as needed, regardless of whether you use cash-based primary care or insurance-based care. Your cash-based primary care provider will work with you to coordinate any necessary referrals.
